In-person components for some courses
While UC online courses are designed for flexible, remote study, some courses include limited in-person requirements to support professional accreditation and hands-on learning. These components only apply to specific courses and are scheduled in advance.
Placements
Placements may be required for professionally accredited courses such as Counselling and Social Work.
Intensive units
Intensive units may apply to selected courses, including Juris Doctor, Counselling and Social Work, and involve short, on-campus sessions at UC.
Any in-person requirements will be clearly outlined on individual course pages before you apply.
What’s expected from you
Online study offers flexibility, but it also requires commitment and self-discipline to succeed.
Time and participation
Dedicate 15–20 hours per week to your studies, actively engaging with course materials, live sessions and group discussions.
Meeting deadlines
Online study will include recorded lectures, live webinars and online discussions. You will have assignments, readings and group projects with set deadlines, allowing you to manage your time flexibly.
Active participation
Attend optional live sessions and take part in discussions with lecturers and fellow students to support your learning.
